TRBL Chiang Mai newsletter dated 17th May 2010
The Social Evening on Wednesday 19th May is the first opportunity your committee
will have to chat to members in a relaxed atmosphere so that we can all
get to know just what everyone would like to see happening in our Sub Branch.
If you have any comments or suggestions do please come along and share them
with us. Even if you can't think of anything at the moment, just come along
anyway for a drink and enjoy a pleasant evening with like minded folk.
Now here is some recent news about the help we feel the sub Branch needs.
Glenn Croston has confirmed that he will continue in his
role as Welfare Officer,
He will sit on the committee in this role. He will be assisted by
Jay Thirst, who has already accompanied Glenn on local
visits and has expressed an interest in taking the Case Workers Introductory
Course, to be held later this year in Chonburi.
It would be a fine safe guard for the future if we could find another person
who would be prepared to take on this sort of caring role and undertake
the training course, please let Glenn or any committee member know if you
would be interested in this.
David Hardcastle will take the position of Press Officer,
he will ensure that TRBL events achieve the widest publicity prior to the
occasion and that follow up reports and notable activities are sent to all
the relevant media. As we might expect he will continue with his recruitment
drive and his support for Remembrance.
Victor Hayes has kindly offered to continue to act as Webmaster
for our Website,
please click on the link above and have a look at what we have, Victor will
be pleased to see that we are starting to use this facility more fully.
So let us know if you have any ideas for other links or features we can
add to our Internet presence.
We thank those members who have helped secure the future of the Sub Branch
by strengthening the team.
We would still like to hear from anyone who could help in the areas of:
Membership Secretary, Social Secretary, Poppy Appeal Coordinator or Remembrance
Coordinator
None of these tasks will involve expense or take up much time over the course
of a year so if you feel you could make a contribution please feel free
to ask us just what would be involved, or if you have an area of expertise,
please tell us about it, we welcome all suggestions!
There is a change to our upcoming Social programme. The event planned for
Saturday 26th June will not now take the form previously outlined. The venue
will change and we are planning a BBQ evening (under cover if wet) keep
a look out on the website for revised details and I'll let you know what's
happening as soon as everything is finalised.
Looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday
